Our Technical Advisory Services Department service is executed by a specialized external stakeholder support department that provides technical expertise and advisory services to support the agricultural production and sustainability of the Fibre Crops subsector.

The primary objective of TAS is to provide agricultural advisory services to farmers, extension workers, and other stakeholders in the Fibre Crops subsector.

Services

  1. Identify policy gaps, and collaborate with partners to develop relevant policies for the fibre sector;
  2. Conduct County Governments’ training programs aimed at increasing their knowledge of production technologies and on market potentials and prospects for Fibre crops;
  3. Guide and advise stakeholders on best practices in agriculture production, transport and processing of fibre produce;
  4. Facilitate acquisition of high-quality planting materials;
  5. Develop, standardize and disseminate training materials and build the capacity of farmers with a view to enhancing farmers’ knowledge of production technologies, market potential and quality control;
  6. Establish, maintain and disseminate data on the fibre crops subsector;
  7. Establish linkages with various government and private sector institutions to conduct studies and research designed to promote the production, processing and marketing of fibre and fibre products.
