Djibouti on a Miraa Mission!
Djibouti is a potential market for Kenyan Miraa, and this visit aims to further boost exports and create economic opportunities for both countries.
The Directorate was established under the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) Act No.13 of 2013 with the mandate to develop, promote and regulate Miraa, Pyrethrum and Bixa sub-sectors in Kenya. We are responsible for regulating, and implementing policies and strategies to enhance the production, processing and facilitate trade (domestic, regional and international) of the subsectors. We operationalize Crops Act No.16 2013 and the Crops-specific (Miraa, Pyrethrum & Bixa) regulations. The Directorate works closely with other Government agencies, dealers, growers and other stakeholders to ensure that the sub-sectors in Kenya operate sustainably for economic growth and transformation.
