The Sugar Directorate

The Sugar Directorate is a Government agency established under the Agriculture and Food Authority Act of 2013. Working within the AFA, the Sugar Directorate plays a crucial role in promoting the development of the sugar industry in Kenya and ensuring that it remains a vital contributor to the country’s economy. The Directorate operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and is responsible for regulating as well as implementing policies and strategies to enhance the production, processing, and marketing of sugar. The Sugar Directorate works closely with other Government agencies, sugar millers, farmers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the sugar industry in Kenya operates efficiently and sustainably.
