Services

  1. Registration and Licensing of dealers;
  2. Inspections and Compliance audits of fibre crops dealers’ processing facilities to ascertain compliance with the Crops Act,2013, standards and industry codes of practice;
  3. Surveillance at gazetted border points in the country; Development and review of Fibre standards and industry Codes of Practice in collaboration with Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS);
  4. Capacity building of County Government officers on matters relating to regulations and compliance;
  5. Participation in codex committee meetings on matters related to agricultural policies, standards and fibre trade locally and internationally;
  6. Inspection of fibre imports or exports for compliance with national, regional and international standards;
  7. To enforce compliance with the Crops Act, 2013 and standards for conformity to product quality;
  8. To promote self-regulation among the various categories of dealers along the value chain in line with respective industry codes of practice.
