The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) and MACFRUT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost trade between Kenya and Italy. The agreement, signed by MACFRUT President Renzo Piraccini and AFA Director General Dr. Bruno Linyiru, focuses on developing Kenya’s horticulture sector. MACFRUT will establish a center of excellence for horticultural training, facilitate market access for Kenyan exporters (including buyer visits and support for Kenyan participation in MACFRUT), and support knowledge exchange through farm visits. The MoU signing was attended by dignitaries including the Italian Ambassador to Kenya and representatives from KALRO and the Italian Trade Agency, along with Italian distributors of agricultural technology and importers of Kenyan horticultural products who held B2B sessions with Kenyan exporters.
