Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) Board Chairman, Hon. Cornelly Serem this week presided over an Avocado Exporters meeting in Nairobi. The consultative forum was convened to discuss the quality of export Avocado.

He affirmed that the Authority will be firm in ensuring that the players in the industry adhere to the requisite handling processes and export mature avocados as guided by the Regulations.

This is aimed towards ensuring that Kenya safeguards the quality of Kenyan Avocado in the International Market, in order to sustain and enlarge the existing markets.

Maintaining good quality will also help create demand for Kenyan Avocado in new markets.
